More than a thousand cookies, More than 200 students, 1 heart ♥

On Thursday, the 23rd of April, 2012, we went to visit the little boy who we had tried all these time raising money from casual days and Grace's Cookies sales to pay for a heart operation that changed his life. His name is Nguyễn Văn Ngà and he is so sweet. All of us, of course, smiled with him but was really sad to know his story. Before getting this surgery, Ngà always encounter symptoms like coughing, sneezing or whatever as well as having a very weak heart. But from all the money that you guys took and gave to this boy from buying cookies and wearing casual, this Ngà's life had totally been changed. He was very energetic the day we met him.

Ngà is the boy on the left and that is his mom, smiling with her healthy little boy. We brought him lots of toys to play and Teena even gave him the beautiful teddy bear on his hand. He was smiling, you see, and her mom, even happier with such a big smile! We make a card for him that says: "More than 1000 cookies, More than 200 students, 1 heart". We don't want to say like "I am the one who payed this surgery and you should be grateful" but we are just saying that we had tried this much to save this little boy and that we are very happy to be here today with him, not to ask for any gratefulness. At first, he looked like he was scared of all of us strangers to him. When we told his mom that we did all this to save this little child, her face turned into a very thankful look. I am serious here, like we were the one who help but when seeing her expression, a thankful but sad expression, you can't stop yourself from getting this emotion of the awkward moment. Seeing such a happy mom with a face that will really print into your mind.

After giving him the teddy bear, Mrs. Elizabeth came in with a bunch of toys! On the left is a picture we took with his mom and him with his toys around! At first he does not know who we are and why we were there so he hadn't smile yet. Wait for later!
There was guy from the heartbeat foundation who explained for her the card that we wrote since she can't read. Life is hard if we can't read and she can still raise her child until today, WHAT A MOTHER!
When she understood what the card meant to say, she thanked us a lot for what we had done for this child. When we asked her that did she pay for any of the fee for this surgery, she explained that when the foundation informed her that AIS paid 70% of the fee, and asked her if she has money for the rest and she said "no" so they asked for the rest 30%. So! You guys paid 70% of the fee!!! Isn't that incredible, but you guys did it, should be proud about yourself because you contributed to help this little guy!

Ngà was really into the toys: :)
He was playing with the lion Ms. Sarah gave him!
The lion from Ms. Sarah and the bear from Teena!

After that, they showed us Nga's cut from the surgery, do you want to see it?
Cry if you feel like so :) He looks sad in this picture doesn't he? :(
He was surrounded by toys!!!

The rest is playing with the toys! Check out  the pictures.

 STICKERS!

HE STARTED TO SMILE!!!!!!!!! We made him smile, that was the best part, he was playing with the coloring book with stickers for certain parts of the face and he loves mustaches! =]]
