Thi Nghe Orphanage
On Wednesday the 22nd of February, 10 members of the Student Council went to Thi Nghe Orphanage. We left school at 3:30pm and arrived at the destination at about 3:45pm. A woman which is in charged of the orphanage went out and welcomed us told us that she is very happy to see us here.
First, she gave us a overall introduction about the orphanage. From what she told us, we know that this place belongs to the Vietnam government but before, these volunteer women owns it. She then gave us a tour around the orphanage. First, we went to the ICT class for disabled children. Even though they have problems with there body parts they can still type on the computer and play games! After that, we went to the sewing and weaving section, it is nice to see that these children can sew very well.
When we passed the mental disordered children, we waved to them and they waved back. One girl even ask for some candies! After that we went to the room where the children can't move. Everybody was sad to see this, Miss Sarah waved to the children! We even talked with a guy about cats and other animals! Next, we went to the place where the heads of these children were bigger than the normal size! The people there were really careful as they help them with their eating and sleeping.
The next part was the best! We went up to another room that has small kids that have mental problems. All of us were eager to play with them, Tom T (7th grade) even got hit by one of the mischievous boy! Even though it hurts but he still let the boy hit him because Tom knows that the boy is happy! Kristy was a very experienced babysitter. Everyone played with the children and brought happiness to them. At school, when your friends smile, it is normal but here, when we made a friendly patch on their back or hug them or even tickle them, they smiled happily. This smile isn't normal, we made a disabled child smile, which would make us very happy!
After the playing, at about 4:40pm we started to leave the room and went down to the main office of the orphanage. We gave the lady the bag of candies we brought with us, she was very grateful! We even took a group picture, then we headed home.
What we did was nothing big, but it brought happiness to the children there. This good deed also would make a very good view for people about AIS. It proves that you are a good student and citizen as well as AIS is a school that really cares about people around.

What we got for our Grace's Cookies sale?
Student Council had a Cookies sell on Valentine's Day! The amount of money we raised was more than 6 million. All of this money will go to the Grace's Cookies. We are raising money to pay an operating for a child who is disadvantaged. However, according to Margo, the person who delivered us the cookies, we might not have enough money so far so we would have to raise more money like one more casual day or something. We would love to have all of your cooperation. When we receive the picture of the child we are trying to save we promise we will post it on this blog! Thanks for all of your help!

Valentine's Day Cookies Sell!
Student Council is having a Valentine's Cookies sell on the Valentine's Day (Tuesday, February 14th)! We are selling cookies in aid of the Grace's Cookies company which is a charity company which pay for operations for disadvantaged Vietnamese children! Especially, this time, we offer to you guys the service of delivering the cookies you want to buy to the want you wish to! It can be your crush, your best friend, or your teacher! The cost for each card and delivery is 30.000VNĐ! There are 200 cookies in total, 100 sugar cookies and 100 chocolate chips so don't miss out!
